Thornton Davis
Thornton Davis began Davis Brothers with a focus on building new homes in the Richmond, VA area. His vision and commitment was to provide extraordinary building construction services. Thornton Davis was successful in maintaining the family business through World War I and the depression of the 1920’s and 30’s. Many examples of this early work are still visible in Richmond’s West End and North Side neighborhoods.
Melvin Davis
Following Thornton Davis, the company was led by his son, Melvin Davis. Melvin Davis continued the commitment to excellence and provided more than sixty years of leadership to the company. His commitment to excellence and growth in business was evident through community service as well as his business leadership. During his tenure, DBCC branched out into the religious and commercial markets. Building on its record of excellence in service and reputation, the company secured government contacts including work on the Virginia State Capital and Richmond’s (then) Byrd Airport.
Langston Davis
Langston R. Davis succeeded his father as President of DBCC. Under Langston Davis Sr. 50 years with the company, certain milestones have been achieved that have anchored Davis Brothers in the community as one of the area’s premier construction company. Under his leadership, 90% of DBCC current work is generated from repeat clients. He has also expanded DBCC foot print to include offices and projects in Virginia, Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., North Carolina, South Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia.
